Open position for a young researcher in space weather modelling at the University of Turku

Dear colleagues,

We have opened a position for a project researcher / postdoctoral

researcher in our research group. The tasks of the researcher will be

related to modelling of solar energetic particle acceleration at

coronal/interplanetary shocks and transport in the interplanetary medium

in an upcoming EU project on the topic.

The call for applications is available at

https://www.utu.fi/en/university/come-work-with-us/open-vacancies

call id 8063, and also attached to this message. Deadline for

applications is 1 November 2019.

The nomination is initially for two years, starting on 1 March 2020 or

based on agreement. We will try to make a swift selection (by the end of

November, the latest) so starting even earlier than that is entirely

possible (especially for applicants who do not need a visa/work permit).

The contract can be continued once (up to two years) without opening

another call.

Could you, please, circulate the call in your group/department to the

fresh (master-level) graduates and postdocs.

Best regards

Rami

P.S. In some countries it takes a long time to get the PhD degree after

submitting the thesis for evaluation. Persons in the final phases of

their PhD studies can apply and, if selected, get their nomination first

as a project researcher and then, once the degree is conferred, a

promotion to a postdoc.
