Abstract | The FIELDS instrument suite for the Parker Solar Probe mission was launched on August 2018 and will make the first in situ measurements of magnetic and electric fields in the solar corona. We describe the current status of the FIELDS instruments, which have been integrated with the PSP spacecraft. We present representative data from ground testing, and describe the contents and format of the various data products which will be made publicly available to the community by the FIELDS team.
We also describe the concept of operations for the FIELDS suite, detailing the planning process which will maximize FIELDS science return from each PSP encounter. |
