Abstract

The LASCO-C2 coronagraph aboard SOHO has now completed 22 years of onservation of the solar corona thus covering almost two complete solar cycles. Thanks to an automatic procedure detecting coronal mass ejections (CMEs) on synoptic maps, an unbiased catalog free of human factors has been created and lists their main parameters such as spatial distribution, angular width, speed, mass, and kinetic energy. The present version of this "ARTEMIS" catalogs is complete until July 2018 and lists more than 38000 CMEs. This unsurpassed data base is suitable for a statistical analysis of the properties of CMEs over two solar cycles and independently on SC 23 and 24 for comparison. The study is extended to the associations with other eruptive events, notably eruptive prominences, flares, and active regions so as to clarify their connections.
